Spring is popping out in East Tennessee! The recent warm temperatures are really doing a job on the many hardwoods here at James Ridge. The new leaves are bright green – almost lime green. Easter was gorgeous and it sure is nice to enjoy the blue skies and warm weather after our crazy winter.

Saw lots of wild turkeys at James Ridge this morning. They weren’t even afraid of my truck, as they don’t know there’s a hunting season starting April 1st. They are too majestic to shoot.

What could be more beautiful than Christmas time at James Ridge? The mountains white capped and majestic in the smoky mist, the grass is still green, the deer and turkey play in the windy fields, and there’s a great chance for a “white” Christmas.

I drove thru James Ridge early this morning and the mountain fog had lifted and the view both to the Smokies and Cumberlands was absolutely beautiful!
The Great Smoky Mountains stick up on the horizon on a clear day so high that is reminds me of the Rocky Mountains in Yellowstone National Park.
